Rev. Gregory Gilbert

This week His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros advised the Cathedral of the appointment of Father Gregory Gilbert as our new proistamenos, effective February 1st. Father is a graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, NC, where he studied Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) and St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary where he received his M.A. in Theology in 2004 and later received a Ph.D. in Greek and Latin. Father Gregory most recently served as the presiding priest of St. Demetrios, Upper Darby where he helped foster a vibrant and active community.

From all accounts, Father Gregory is a rising star among the clergy of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. In addition to his deep knowledge of theology, he is fluent in Greek, and is a talented chanter. We look forward to welcoming Father Gregory, his Presvytera Catherine and their five children to our community.
